Q1. How many parody commercials so far?

11 commercials (from 10 companies) in total.

    Q2. Who appears most often?

Louis Koo (Cyclone), in 5 commercials.

Q3. What’s new in the latest update?

May 19 update added 7 new ads. These include DBS Hong Kong and AIA.

I made a collection of commercial videos. They feature actors from “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In” as parody versions of their characters!

    1. Uber Taxi “Skip the Kung Fu!” Campaign

    Featuring: Louis Koo (Cyclone).
Not a direct parody, but inspired by his latest kung fu movie “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In.”

    Behind-the-scenes footage(?)

    2. AllRightsReserved “PANDA GO! Hong Kong Tour” Promotion Video

    Featuring: Louis Koo (Cyclone).
There’s a panda dressed as Cyclone. It’s cute.

    3. Deliveroo Hong Kong

Featuring: Terrence Lau (Shin) and Kenny Wong (Tiger).
Kenny Wong plays a triad boss in this commercial. Terrence Lau acts as his subordinate. They enjoy karaoke together, much like in the film. I wonder who owns this karaoke place (lol).

    Behind-the-scenes footage

    4. Eagle Brand Medicated Oil

Featuring: Raymond Lam (Chan Lok-kwan) and Tony Wu (Twelfth Master).
They fight over char siu rice. Raymond’s light sunglasses might reference Cyclone (lol).

    5. Tam Jai SamGor Rice Noodles

    Featuring: Philip Ng (King).
Did King cut his hair? He looks so much like King (lol).

    6. Gucci

Featuring: Louis Koo (Cyclone) and Raymond Lam (Chan Lok-kwan).
It keeps Gucci’s luxury atmosphere while including small references to “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In.”

    Behind-the-scenes footage

    7. DBS Hong Kong

Featuring: Louis Koo (Cyclone) and Raymond Lam (Chan Lok-kwan).
This is clearly a parody of that famous scene (lol). I was surprised to see a banking institution use this film. It shows how popular the movie is in Hong Kong.

    8. AIA Hong Kong And Macau

    Featuring: Terrence Lau (Shin)
Terrence Lau rides a motorcycle like Shin. His flashy character also resembles Shin. In the film, Shin rode without a helmet through the fortress. Terrence wears a helmet here, making him look more responsible (lol).

    9. 正官庄 香港 Korean Ginseng (Hong Kong)

    Featuring: Terrence Lau (Shin)
Terrence Lau rides a motorcycle again. This time he has no helmet.

    10. 大快活 Fairwood I

    Featuring: German Cheung (AV)
I see this as a film parody due to the kung fu action. German Cheung wears light clothing, also like in the film. I enjoy his kicking skills. The lack of kicks here might be due to restaurant hygiene. Kicks could stir up dust.

    【番外編】Deliveroo Hong Kong

    Featuring: Louis Koo (Cyclone).
Louis Koo tries to forcefully shave an actor’s beard (lol). This seems like a movie parody, but it’s listed separately. Why? The commercial came out in January 2022, before the movie’s release. The filming of both likely overlapped. It’s not clear which beard-shaving scene came first. Still, it’s quite interesting.

  • Douban is a treasure of images!

I found many images of the movie “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In” on Douban, the big Chinese movie database!!! Oh, did everyone already know about this…?

This photo is not in the actual movie, but I almost fell down when I saw how cool it looked. Cyclone looks so cool as he fights enemies hard and spreads his coolness everywhere.

  • [Viewer discretion advised if you don’t want to be disillusioned with Shin] Kowloon Walled City Tour: The version where Shin is suspected of eating his boogers.

Last year, Terrance Lau (劉俊謙), who plays Shin, uploaded a version of the “Kowloon Walled City Tour” video to his Instagram. This video includes the scene where Shin is suspected of eating his boogers – a scene that was removed from the official video released in Japan. I mean… it really looks like he’s eating it, right?

The official “Kowloon Walled City Tour” video provided by the Japanese distribution company, THE KLOCKWORX, is available here: ↓

(Thank you very much, Mr. Yu Yi!) Therefore, I have now updated the timeline to incorporate this information.

  • Collection of Official and Main Cast Links

I have put together links to the official website and to the actors’ pages.
If you find any wrong or missing links, please kindly tell me.

Film Official Site (Japan)”Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In”

The distributor THE KLOCKWORX shares videos from the shoot, and a city-tour clip guided by Shin.

    Mr. Yuyi (Original Author)

His site also has news on the novella “Shin-ichi Den.”

    古天樂 Louis Koo (Cyclone)

His site has a blog that he updates often. Fans are thankful!!

    林峯 Raymond Lam (Chan Lok-kwan)

Because he is also a singer, music news comes first on his site. I wonder if he will hold a live show in Japan one day…

    劉俊謙 Terrance Lau (Shin)

He mainly uses Instagram. (Here is the clip that makes people ask if Shin eats a booger!)

    胡子彤 Tony Wu (Twelfth Master)

He also focuses on Instagram. His lively photos show a playful side.

    張文傑 German Cheung (AV)

He is active on Instagram. Among the “Four Youths,” he shows the most skin. His YouTube channel has not been updated for a few years.

    伍允龍 Philip Ng (King)

Again, Instagram is his main place. He posted the anime Future Robo Daltanius—I am curious how he knows it!

    任賢齊 Richie Jen (Dik Chau)

He likes Instagram, but I personally enjoy his relaxing hiking and street-walk videos on YouTube.

喬靖夫 Jozev Lau (Ah Chat / Double Blade)

He mainly uses Instagram or X. We are happy that he visits Japan so often.

    王尹菁 (Fish Ball Little Sister)

Young actress 王尹菁 has also opened an Instagram account! It’s nice to see how the adult cast members in the photos with her have such gentle expressions.

朱栢康 Chu Pak Hong (Sugarcane man/paper man)

There was a fun short play with the “Four Youths” at the 43rd Hong Kong Film Awards. Can’t help but look forward to seeing if there will be appearances in prequel or sequel movies too.

    谷垣健治 Kenji Tanigaki (Action Director)

X is his main tool. Thanks to him, I learned the charm of action movies again.

    川井 憲次 Kenji Kawai (Composer)

He mainly updates his official site. His music was wonderful here; I hope he also scores the prequel or sequel.

    Yoyo Sham

Yoyo Sham provided the impressive ending song. According to her Instagram, she seems to be a fan of “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (葬送のフリーレン.)”

  • Timeline: the film ‘Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In’ ver. 1

Because there was no clear summary of the film’s history, I made a timeline in Japanese and English that covers everything from the publication of the original story up to now.

Most of the information comes from Japan, but I tried to include as much as possible. It is not written in the timeline, but a movie project was announced in 2013; however, it did not come to life then.

Also, the box‑office revenue in Japan has passed 100 million yen, which is said to be the best result for a Hong Kong film in the last five years. I am excited to see how much further the Japanese box office will grow.
